Schedule for Event Day, Sunday, October 8, 2017

  • Registration runs from 1:00 - 2:30 pm
  • Festivities begin at 2:00 pm
  • Walk/Run begins at 3:00 pm

For your convenience, we’ve also provided you with a map of parking options. Parking in the multi-level parking building across from Pullman Square on 8th Street and Third Ave will be free during the event (NOTE the parking building at Pullman Square - regular hourly parking fees are applicable there.). A big thank you to Mayor Steve Williams and the City of Huntington for making that possible.

Remember to come early because streets will begin to be blocked off at 2:30 p.m. as police and road crew members head out to secure and set up the course for the walk/run to begin at 3 p.m.

Course Information

  • Distance 5k
  • Mostly flat with one easy rise in elevation
  • Long, straight-aways
  • 3 Water Stations plus bowls for watering dogs
  • Police controlled major intersections
  • Volunteers controlling traffic at all other intersections
  • Refreshments provided at finish line

Walkers and runners will begin on 3rd Ave. & 8th St. and head west on 3rd Ave. The course then turns left onto 7th St. and then left again onto 5th Ave. It then travels east on 5th Ave. to 20th St. where walkers/runners will make a left turn onto 20th St. It then takes another left turn onto 3rd Ave. then loops back to Pullman Square where the course began.


Most Participants
An award will be given for the group that has the most team members. Bring your family, co-workers and neighbors to take a stand against cancer.

Most Colorful
An award will be given to the person or team that displays the most colorful attire for Colors for a Cure. Pick your color(s) and wear them creatively, proudly or wildly.

Most Thoughtful
The most thoughtful award will be given to the Colors for a Cure participant who properly captures the heart and meaning of the event.
