We welcome you to serve your community by helping with fundraising, planning and event-day activities.

Being of service to others is a main tenet of Colors for a Cure. It requires many people of purpose to create a large community event such as this. We are always on the lookout for people who wish to be of service to their community in a fun, meaningful way. Once people serve with C4C, they quite frequently return for the experience in consecutive years. Please know that we attempt to accommodate each volunteer's wishes but with such a large event and numerous volunteers, we hope you understand that on event day you may be moved to assist in a different area.

Below you will find a list of available positions in which you can serve, along with estimated service time for each position. Click on the position for more information. Once you find your perfect spot to serve, click on the green Sign up to Volunteer button.

Our volunteer stations are all full for the 2017 Colors for a Cure. Thank you for your interest and we hope to see you there!

  • Road Crew
  • The Road crew seeds and maintains the spirit of our event. You are our community cheerleaders. You will be assigned a spot out on the course from which you will cheer the walkers/runners on with words of encouragement, holding up signs, cheering and clapping. This service position keeps our participants safe at intersections where there is no police presence. (Approx service time: 3 hours)

  • Registration & Packet Pickup
  • This position requires VIP’s to be available to serve at both the Packet Pickup Expo & Registration event held Saturday night before the event, as well as on event day. Positions include bib pulling, tshirt pulling, registering and problem-solving. You are our goodwill ambassadors as you are the first VIP’s that participants come face to face with. (Approx service time: 6-8 hrs)

  • Water Stations
  • Event participants love those VIP’s (Volunteers in Purple) who serve in this position. They get quite thirsty out on the course, especially the runners. You will be assigned a water station from which you will pass out water to course participants while cheering them on to the finish line. (Approx service time: 3 hours)

  • Pre-event Planning
  • This position is perfect for those of you who won’t be volunteering on event day but would like to participate in the planning of the event to play an integral part in building community for a meaningful cause. Your involvement can be attending regular meetings to create, plan and problem-solve our way to a successful event or you can just sign up to be on the list to help out when we need tasks done and errands run before the event. Pre-event planners are the backbone of our event. (Approx service time: varies according to availability)

  • Cleanup Crew
  • This appointment asks for you to serve for a few hours during and after the event helping to keep our event clean, tearing the event down afterwards and to insure that trash is picked up and properly disposed of after the event. Our goal is to return the plaza to the state it was before our event started. This position helps to keep maintain a nice clean atmosphere in which to celebrate. (Approx service time: 3 hours)
